Colon cancer is the second most common tumour in Germany. The earlier it is detected and the better it is treated, the better the prospects of a complete cure. That calls for co-operation between the most diverse medical disciplines, and in this respect our Diagnosis and Treatment Centre, opened two years ago, has the best structural facilities: all the main treatement partner's work in an optimum spatial arrangement. We have an intensive exchange of experience with our colleagues from local practices who refer their patients to us.

We have had our special capacity for treating tumour disease patients certified in accordance with the strict guidelines of the German Cancer Society (OnkoZert). At present we are the only clinic in Munich that complies with these specifications for two types of tumour (breast and bowel cancer). The aim of all our endeavours is maximum patient satisfaction.

OnkoZert is an independent institute contracted by the German Cancer Society to administer the certification system for monitoring organ cancer centres and oncology centres in accordance with the corresponding technical and professional requirements.

The aim of the German Cancer Society (DKG) and other medical specialist societies is to promote the creation of oncology centres with a stipulated standard of quality on a voluntary basis, and thus improve the treatment and care cancer patients receive. In oncology centres, cancer patients are treated and looked after holistically throughout the various phases of their disease. The holistic treatment and care of patients is only possible with a network of specialists from different medical and nursing specialisations in which the specialist departments gear their manner of working reciprocally to the needs of optimum treatment and care of patients.
